r/antiwork u/Jealous-Highway239 19h Boss freaking out over my new open to work status on LinkedIn I've had my open to work turned off for almost a year while I've been at my job. Job put me on a PIP because they don't like the way I do my timesheet and expect more work with no extra pay lol.
  • 02
They've been treating me even before the PIP, so I put open to work on my LinkedIn to mostly them off. Well they noticed. My coworker who's a corporate up told me that my boss was getting calls from HR regarding it and multiple other managers in the company viewed my LinkedIn profile HAHAHAHHA.

How sad. They just lost like 4 people at once and have a crazy high turnover rate so now they know they're about to lose me if I don't get fired first. They haven't said to have them to my face yet. I'm just happy bricks right now.

Opinion Longjumping94. 14h At my last job we dressed very casually. If one person had an interview, they would ask for a Tie Day. The entire team or 20 of us would all dress up so mgt never knew who was leaving. Reply 4860

Sufficient-Meet6127 17h ● Are you client-facing? Make sure you're nice to them and make them love you. It'll hurt that much more when the clients ask where are you. I was in the same boat in 2010. My billable hours were worth over 1.3 M to the company and I brought in more business because my support team was billable too. Then they wanted to increase my hours from 60 to 80 per week when I was salary and I didn't make 10% of what I was bringing in. What did it for me was my boss ordered me to gi

Impossible-Flight250. 16h You're screwed anyway if you have a PIP. Leave the "open to work" up because you need to find a new job. Reply 213

BookNut425. 12h I agree with that. I was given a PIP after 31 years as an assistant manager. One of the things it required me to do was have monthly meetings with my staff and produce minutes from those meetings. What they didn't know was that I had already been doing that since 1993- for just over 30 years. So I retired. them. I took all kinds of institutional knowledge with me and they've been scrambling for an entire month trying to figure out how I did what I did! 119

MrScroticus • 10h Sometimes a PIP is used as a "you're not as special as you think, get in line" type of deal. An intimidation tactic of an overconfident boss that thinks you won't go anywhere. That, and a reason not to raise pay. 447 ...

Yeshes_Online . 17h GenX Autistic Biker Granny Well good. These companies need to understand that we're not just bodies to be directed and that if they aren't willing to take our actual needs into account (something they traditionally try their best NOT to have to do), there are consequences. If you can't take care of your people in the ways that matter to them, you deserve to lose them. Reply 4 114 ...
